About Saba:
Saba Syed Razvi is the author of In the Crocodile Gardens (Agape Editions, 2016), Limerence & Lux (Chax Press, 2016), Beside the Muezzin’s Call & Beyond the Harem’s Veil (Finishing Line Press, 2017), Of the Divining and the Dead (Finishing Line Press, 2012), and the forthcoming poetry collection heliophobia. Her poems have appeared in journals such as The Offending Adam, Diner, THEThe Poetry Blog’s Infoxicated Corner, The Homestead Review, NonBinary Review, 10×3 plus, 13th Warrior Review, The Arbor Vitae Review, and Arsenic Lobster, among others. They have also appeared in anthologies such as Voices of Resistance: Muslim Women on War Faith and Sexuality, The Loudest Voice Anthology, The Liddell Book of Poetry, Political Punch: Contemporary Poems on the Politics of Identity, The Rhysling Award Nominee Anthology, The 2015 Independent Best American Poetry anthology, and others. Her scholarship and creative work explore interfaces between science and poetry, as well as themes of mysticism, gender and sexuality, embodiment, violence, cultural intersectionality, liminality, esotericism, translation, transgression, dreams and nightmare, subculture, folklore, ancient cultures, and American Muslim identity. She is currently an Assistant Professor of English and Creative Writing at the University of Houston-Victoria, where, in addition to teaching, she works on scholarship, poetry, and fiction.
